Seriously?! How Rude!

Yesterday I was suppose to have a interview for an internship with a blog doing some writing and online marketing stuff.  It was a step in the right direction.  My interview was set for 11 and they were suppose to call me.  That morning I woke up and started prepping, doing further research about the company and those involved.  When 11 rolled around, I was ready.  But nothing happened.

I don’t know why, but I decided to check my email.  11:02 they send me an email:

Thanks so much for applying for the position. Unfortunately we have just filled the position with a candidate whose experience and qualification more closely matched our needs. Thank you for applying and best of luck in your search.

ARE  YOU SERIOUS?!  You don’t even have the courtesy to talk to me?  You set up an interview and then cancel it at the TIME of the interview?  That’s ridiculously rude.  What kind of hiring practices does this place have?!  Never have I encountered something like this.  I didn’t even know how to react.  What were they thinking?!  AHHH!!

Needless to say I was pissed off.  I was angrier than I’ve been in a really long time.  How do they know that person is more closely matched to their needs when they haven’t even talked to me?  What if I didn’t check my email when I did – I would have just been sitting there waiting for the phone to ring.  They could have at least called me to tell me what was in the email.  That would have given them more points, but seriously, sending an email when you’re suppose to be meeting is just not cool.

The silver lining is that at least I’m not working for them.  If they would pull something like this to a potential employee, I wonder how they treat their actual employees.  Definitely dodged a bullet.

I still can’t get over how rude they were.  (Time to seek revenge)

Seriously.
