For the first time in many seasons, I was able to hit the slopes! I was so excited! And worried at the same time. Its been so long since I’ve been able to head to the mountain (last time Jan 2008 I think)! But there was no need to worry. Within a couple minutes, I felt at home on my skis.
A couple weeks ago, Groupon had a deal for half price lift tickets and my friends who had gone skiing a couple times without me, couldn’t pass up the deal. I managed to snag a weekday off work and we headed to the mountain.
We couldn’t have picked a more spectacular day to go skiing. The sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in sight. From the top of Seymour, you could see all of Vancouver. It was so amazing. There weren’t that many people on the mountain. I think we only had to line up for the chair lift once. It was VERY cold though, and the wind didn’t help. By the end of the day, all of us were shivering in our jackets.
It was my first time at Seymour. The runs were pretty good, but short. I think I would hate it if I were there on a weekend when it is filled with people.
I definitely remember why I used to love this. The breeze rushing through my air, turning my cheeks and nose a rosy, flushed colour – seriously the best feeling in the world. So much freedom. Its just you and the snow beneath you. Love love love!
