Cat in the Big City

I decided to head to Vancouver for a week or so after exams. P. wanted to go back too. What was the cat going to do? We can't leave her alone for that long. She'll go insane and probably starve =S Our solution? Take the cat to the big city =)

I've taken her on the ferry before, using a duffel bag as her cage. Its easier to carry and I can pack all her things in just one bag. She made a huge fuss at first, but once we got on the bus and she was more comfortable in her bag, she stopped complaining. She was interested in everything around her. At one point during the bus ride, it started snowing and she looked out the window at the snow for the longest time. Getting on the ferry was a bit worrisome. Technically pets are not allowed on the boat unless they're in a car and seeing as I don't have a car, thats a bit of a problem. We settled down on the upper deck and she soon fell asleep. The trip wasn't too bad.

Being a brat on the bus.

My parents never had a pet before in their house. It was definitely an interesting experience. I don't think I will ever bring the cat back to my place though. Just not the right kind of experience for her. My parents spent a lot of time yelling at her, even though all she was doing was being a cat (exploring, sniffing things). She wasn't destroying furniture, climbing things or doing anything bad. My parents just didn't know how to deal with her.

Wanting to go outside into the back yard and chase insects!

Thankfully, P. came home and I took the cat to her place. Take the cat on the sky train wasn't too bad. By this time, the cat was use to her bag and being transported from place to place. She didn't complain too much. P. picked us up at the terminal and the cat got a first hand look at the outside world. She spent a much of the trip gazing out the window, watching things go by. Definitely cute =)

P. has a beagle, Toffee, in Vancouver. The cat and him have met before and things worked out in the end. This time, they made friends pretty fast. Toffee was really excited to meet his new animal friend and was over eager to sniff the cat's butt. The cat was scared and hid under P.'s bed. Toffee tried to go in after her, but he was a little too big.

Soon the cat came out and started exploring and bossing the dog around, swatting at his wagging tail. It was super cute.
