Toronto Trip

So I'm back from Toronto and NLDC held by Ryerson. It was a pretty intense week. P and I headed over there early to do a little bit of sightseeing. We stayed at a hostel, which from the outside, looked a little sketchy, but inside was really clean and neat. Our first full day there, we headed to UT and Chinatown and did some exploring. UT compared to UVic is HUGE!! I think we spent about 3 hours wandering around campus and checking out the classrooms and the sights.

Then we headed for Chinatown. It looked and felt like Vancouver's Chinatown. Just bigger. The streets were wider to make room for the streetcars (I was SO mystified by those... how do people NOT get run over?!) and the larger amounts of traffic. Other than that, it sounded and smelled like Chinatown. We bought food to take back to the hostel for dinner that night.

The next day, we headed downtown. We went to Union Station first and then worked our way back up to Eaton Centre. We turned the wrong way and ended up at the CBC building. We toured around their museum about CBC's history. It was actually pretty interesting. They had the original broadcasts from major events in history (like Tienanmen's Square and Terry Fox's decision to stop running). They even had a display of Mr. Dressup!! I loved that show as a kid growing up =)

Finally getting back on track, we made it to city hall. Unfortunately, the water fountain wasn't going, so it looked pretty blah. Then we headed for Eaton Centre! I bought a new pair of shoes as my old ones were pretty gross and starting to fall apart. I was determined to get something from Abercrombie but it was SO expensive. In the end I found a sweater (SO soft and comfy) on sale so it was all good =)
